Welcome to umOSS, the group for people at and around the University of Maryland who support the advancement and adoption of free and open-source software and content.
Most visitors will be interested in the UM Linux Users Group (for users of GNU/Linux and other UNIX-like operating systems) or mirrorUM (the on-campus free software mirror operated by umOSS).
The umOSS website will soon contain guides to using free software at Maryland, links to interesting UM-published free data sets, free software developed at the university and information about new content that might be helpful for students.
If you would like to offer your time or funding for umOSS and its projects (mirrorUM and UMLUG), please contact us: umoss_at_umdeletethisoss_dot_org.
